Fall is one of those seasons that never seems to slow down. School is back, calendars fill up, and suddenly the holidays are right around the corner. You want updated photographs of the people you love most—but finding an entire afternoon for a session can feel impossible.
That is exactly why I love fall mini sessions.
A mini session is short, thoughtfully planned, and full of movement and connection. You do not need hours in front of the camera to create meaningful images. With a beautiful Connecticut location, flattering light, and gentle direction, twenty minutes can hold so much: the way your little one reaches for your hand, the laugh your family knows by heart, and the season of life you never want to forget.
A SIMPLE EXPERIENCE FOR BUSY FAMILIES
Mini sessions remove many of the decisions that make family photographs feel overwhelming. The date, location, and session length are already planned. You choose a time, coordinate your clothing, and arrive ready to love on your people.
I will guide you from beginning to end. You never need to worry about knowing how to pose or keeping everyone perfectly still. Children are allowed to be children. We will walk, cuddle, play, and make space for the honest moments in between.
BEAUTIFUL VARIETY WITHOUT A LONG SESSION
Twenty minutes may sound quick, but a well-paced mini session can create a lovely mix of photographs. I work intentionally so we can capture the full family, parents together, siblings, individual portraits, and plenty of natural interaction.
The goal is not to manufacture perfection. It is to preserve what your family feels like right now.
PERFECT FOR HOLIDAY CARDS AND MEANINGFUL GIFTS
Fall photographs arrive at just the right time for holiday cards, framed gifts, albums, and updated artwork for your home. Your mini-session collection includes five professionally edited digital images, a private online gallery, and personal print rights. If you fall in love with more, additional images and a Gallery Best upgrade are available after you view your proofs.
WHAT TO WEAR
Choose colors that coordinate without matching exactly. Cream, camel, olive, rust, dusty blue, burgundy, and soft neutrals photograph beautifully against Connecticut’s fall scenery. Begin with one outfit you love and build the rest of the family around it. Texture and gentle layers add interest, while large logos and very bright neon colors can pull attention away from your faces.
Most importantly, choose clothing that feels like you and lets everyone move comfortably.
