Newborn schedules are built around due dates, not fixed birthdays. Reserving your place early gives us time to plan the type of session you want, talk through studio versus in-home lifestyle photographs, and prepare siblings or parents who will be included. Once your baby arrives, we adjust the exact date around recovery, feeding, and what feels best for your family.
When are posed newborn portraits usually created?
Posed studio newborn portraits are typically photographed when a baby is about 5–21 days old. During that early window, babies often settle naturally into the sleepy, curled poses families love. This is a guideline—not a deadline. Every baby and every birth story is different, and comfort always comes first.
What about an in-home lifestyle session?
Lifestyle newborn sessions are more flexible and focus on connection in the place where your family is settling into life together. They can often be scheduled during the first several weeks, and they leave plenty of room for feeding, cuddling, soothing, and real-life moments.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
That is completely normal. Your due date holds a place on the calendar; it is not the final appointment. Send me a message after your baby arrives and we’ll choose the actual session date together.
What if my baby is already here?
Still reach out. Last-minute openings happen, and beautiful newborn photographs are possible beyond the traditional posed-newborn window. I’ll recommend the experience that best suits your baby’s age and your family’s priorities.
